The shore cottage
Sleeps 6
An old log cottage right at the water's edge. Wood-fired sauna, main room and a kitchen with a gas stove.
Loppijärvi, 60°41′ N 24°25′ E
Holiday cottage on Lake Loppijärvi in Finland: two cottages, a sauna and a hot tub. Room for 13.
Midsummer evening. The sun sinks to the northwest, straight behind the lake.
Then it travels on below the horizon, heading east. It never gets dark, and the colours behind the lake change all night.
Before four it rises again in the northeast. This is a night worth staying up for.
People come here for the quiet.
Water on three sides, hundreds of metres of your own shore and the neighbours far away.
Sleeps 6
An old log cottage right at the water's edge. Wood-fired sauna, main room and a kitchen with a gas stove.
Sleeps 9
The larger cottage, with two bedrooms, a spacious main room, an equipped kitchen and an air-source heat pump.
